If you do what Facebook wants you to do then you will get the results you want to get
It's no secret that you don't see every single post from every single friend you have on Facebook. Take a close look at your timeline over the next few weeks and you will notice the same group of friends continuously reappear with a couple new people sprinkled in.
So, what is the best way to reach everyone on your friendslist? I mean we are in real estate, and when it comes to finding business it is all about numbers.
In a simple answer, just follow Facebook and do what they want you to do. Currently, Facebook is heavy on live streaming and videos.
About 6-9 months ago a couple other live streaming platforms appeared called Meerkat and Periscope. When this new medium arrived Facebook knew it had to capitalize and develop their own service. Which is why in the last 6 months you may have noticed you receive notifications when friends start a live stream, even if you don't normally see their posts.
But how does this apply to real estate?
Well, as I've said before, real estate is a game of numbers. We are trying to capture the attention of as many people as possible.
First off, the notification your friends will receive when you go live is huge. It pushes your name in front of their eyes. Even more so if your friends are Type A, like me, and must remove all notifications from their home screen.
Additionally, a influencer marketing agency called Mediakix reports that users are viewing live streams 3x longer than standard videos and commenting at 10x the rate.
Not only will your friends receive notifications but such a large increase in views and engagements also reveals that Facebook's algorithm will prioritize your live stream and make your profile more visible to your friendslist.
If you are not currently live streaming then it may be a good idea to start. Especially if you plan to find your next client on social media.
Try periodically live streaming to show people what a day in the life of a real estate agent looks like. We all know someone that has said: "I've always thought about becoming an agent but never went for it." I'm sure they would love to engage with you and ask plenty of questions.
Good luck and go capture some leads!
